The Cruising Class at CPYC runs a full schedule of racing, cruising and social activities for boats of various sizes.
Handicap racing has been a fixture at CPYC for over 100 years and complements our extensive one-design racing program. Weekly racing and cruising activities occur throughout the spring, summer and fall. Our beautiful, well protected, deep water basin is one of the finest on the Sound! The addition of our new 5 Ton crane has made the access for many fleets a breeze. Inquiries about joining should be directed to Fleet Captain Derek Ettie

Cedar Point ONEDesign Regatta (May 16-17 & May 30-31)
CPYC’s Cruising fleet hosts the 14'th annual ONEDesign Regatta. Now one of LIS's premier regattas with many exciting One design classes being represented over two weekends of fantastic sailing. Click Here for More Information. The enormous interest in sport boat racing has led to record numbers of sailors at Cedar Point’s annual One Design Regatta in recent years, traditionally held the weekend immediately following Memorial Day. In order to meet the increasing demand, the event has been expanded to two weekends in May. The weekend of May 16-17 will be devoted to sport boats and dinghies, including J/70s, Viper 640s and Lightnings. Stars, Thistles, Flying Scots and Melges 24s will be welcome to join in the fun if they can muster at least six boats each. Two weeks later the keel boats will race on May 30-31. Here we are expecting J/109s, J/105s, J/30s, Beneteau 36.7s, and possibly Soverel 33s. Stay tuned to the Cedar Point web site or reach out to Regatta Chair Halsey Bullen for more information.
