Welcome to Cedar Point Fleet 22 a J70 Class Association member
As we begin 2017, J70’s are now over the 1,000 boats built mark! With their inception of being a well-balanced “sport” boat several years ago, the class has met tremendous success. From J Boats: "She introduces a new dimension of fun, fast sailing in a stable, easy to own boat that all of your friends and family can enjoy. The J70′s 22′ long waterline, coupled with her high aspect all carbon mast and boom, provides extremely spirited performance with the kind of stability upwind that one would enjoy in a much larger boat."
The Fleet 22 at Cedar Point YC is growing quickly and our one design racing on Saturdays and Sunday's is the envy of Long Island Sound. With new members joining and existing members switching to the J70, the sailing this year will be fantastic! We began with two boats the first year the J70 was introduced and have managed to double in number each year since. We just added our tenth boat with three more members joining this year!
As Cedar Point’s newest fleet there is plenty of excitement. We currently sail weekends from April till October with our first event being a kickoff party at CPYC. All are invited so please feel free to come and meet the fleet! Our goal is to have great fun racing followed by camaraderie and crew / family events on shore. There are also many One Design regattas available with the J70 fleet growing so quickly that will keep you busy year round. One of our own events, the Cedar Point One Design Regatta in June will be hosting the J70 Long Island Sound Championship this year. Make plans now to be there !
