Meet your 2017 Instructors

Haley
Haley is returning as head instructor for her second season coaching at CPYC and her fourth season coaching sailing overall. She will be coaching Intermediate Optis in the morning and Advanced Lasers in the afternoon. Haley grew up sailing Optimists and Lasers at Milford Yacht Club and with FAST in Newport, RI. She is a rising senior on the Connecticut College sailing team competing as a doublehanded skipper/crew and Laser sailor and serving as Captain.

Hannah
Hannah is coming back for her 3rd year at CPYC. She is coaching beginning Optis in the morning and racing Optis in the afternoon. Hannah grew up sailing Optis and Lasers and now sails FJs at the University of Delaware. She grew up sailing at Milford Yacht Club and is extremely excited for this year.

James
James is returning more excited than ever for his second year at CPYC. He is coaching Intermediate Optis in the morning and Advanced 420s in the afternoon. James grew up sailing out of Noroton Yacht Club and is a proven Opti, 420, and Laser sailor. After distinguishing himself as a reputable sailor, James is bringing his skills to CPYC to share his immense passion for the sport that is sailing.

Will
Willie is returning for his second year at CPYC. He is coaching Advanced Optis in the morning and 420s in the afternoon. He grew up sailing Optis, 420s, Lasers and Big Boats in the Noroton Yacht Club Junior Program and with LISOT. He will be attending Northeastern University for his Sophomore year and is very excited to return to Cedar Point this year.

Grace
Grace is here for her first year at CPYC, after coaching for two years at the Darien Junior Sailing Team. She will be instructing the morning Beginner Optis and the Advanced Pixels in the afternoons. Grace grew up sailing Optis, Pixels, and 420s at Norwalk Yacht Club, and now sails 420s at The Catholic University of America in DC. She is excited to join the CPYC family this summer!

Brandon
This is Brandon’s first year and can’t wait to get started! He has spent the last 3 years instructing at Longshore Sailing School. He will be coaching Intermediate Optis in the morning and Intermediate Lasers in the afternoon. He grew up sailing Optis, 420s, and Lasers at Milford Yacht Club. Brandon attends Hobart & William Smith Colleges, and will be a sophomore in the fall and is very excited to share his passion and knowledge for the sport of sailing.

Brennan
Brennan will start his first year at CPYC after he coached for a year at Shore and Country Club. He will be instructing the Beginner Opti class in the mornings and the Beginner Pixel class in afternoons. He grew up sailing Optis, Pixels, Lasers, and Big Boats at Black Rock Yacht Club. He will be attending Washington and Lee University this fall as a freshman and he is looking forward to having a great summer on the water at CPYC.

Chris
Chris is super excited for his first year coaching. As a kid, Chris would sail Lasers at Pequot Yacht Club, and still loves racing them when he can in our frostbiting fleet. Chris will be coaching Beginners in the Lasers, drawing on several years competing in the class. This fall he will attend the Catholic University of America in Washington D.C.
