Subject: Should Fleet 177 Sail in the 2010 CPYC Fall Classic ?
Author: Rob Cohen

Body:

I'd like to re-open the question of our fleet participating in the CPYC's 2010 Fall Classic.  We've received word that the Fall Classic does not conflict the regatta at Toms River.  At our Fall meeting we decided that our Fleet would NOT sail in the CPYC Fall Classic, because in 2010 it is especially important for our fleet to attend away regatta's and promote the 2011 NACs that we're planning to host at Cedar Point.  In hind sight, I'm beginning think that if there is no local regatta competing with the date, we should host an event and promote it as an opportunity for a "preview" of the venue for the 2011 Flying Scot NACs.  John Cooke has volunteered be Race Chairman if we decide to participate in the Fall Classic.  Melanie is still finalizing the regatta schedule for our district, but the date looks like it is clear.  My personal bias is to do more sailing in the fall because the wind is generally good and the water is still pretty warm.

What are your thoughts?  Should we re-consider?  What are the pros and cons?
