CPYC has been home to Lightning Fleet 126 for over 40 years. The fleet currently has 18 boats. The race schedule includes a Saturday summer series and three Commodore's Cup Series over the holiday weekends. CPYC also hosts a pair of invitational regattas each year, the Early Bird Regatta in late May and the Lightning Fall Classic Regatta in late September. Typically this means around 30 races each season without ever having to hook up a trailer!

The Lightning is a 19 foot, three person boat with an outstanding class organization and fleets throughout the US and the world. The boat is affordable, fun to sail, and has withstood the test of time.
