Avanti Wins Saint Maarten Heineken Regatta  
Jeremy Jablonski with CPYC members Marcus and Julie Carpenter led team Avanti to 1st place in the Saint Maarten Heineken Regatta. Jeremy was also presented with the Spirit of Saint Maarten award. Avanti will next compete in the BVI Spring Regatta. Wish them luck!

...Well, Maybe Ice...Hangover Bowl Frozen Out 
Unfortunately the basin is frozen over, so there will be no Hangover Bowl on New Year's Day - breaking a long running streak for this annual regatta. Enjoy sleeping in and Happy New Year all!!

Neither Rain, Nor Snow... 
..Shall keep the frostbiter from their appointed race. The fall frostbiting season concluded on 12/10 after a 4 inch snowfall the day prior. There's still the Hangover Bowl on Jan 1 for those truly intrepid souls!

Proctor 4th at Worlds 
Ched Proctor with son Charlie and Meredith Killion finished 4th at the Lightning Worlds in Salinas, Ecuador. Josh Goldman and his team also did quite well with an 11th overall. The winning team was Olympic medalist, Javier Conte from Argentina. Winner of last year's CT/RI Districts at CPYC, Nick Sertl, was 2nd (top US boat).

Proctor Wins in Ecuador 
Ched Proctor with Meredith Killion and Todd Wake won the International Lightning Masters Championship and finished 5th (top U.S. boat) in the South American Championships, 11/17 - 20 in Salinas, Ecuador. Way to go! The World Championship is next up in Ecuador, 11/21 - 25. Good luck to Ched and Josh Goldman!

Avanti Takes Line Honors! 
Avanti with CPYC members Jeremi Jablonski, Marek Mirota, John DeAngelo, and Mike Jablonski took line honors in the ARC Caribbean 1500 (ocean race from Portsmouth, VA to Tortola, BVI; 13 days total at sea).  Congrats!

Fun was had by all at 11/4 Annual Banquet! Perpetual award winners included: Marion Pietrowski (Remlin Trophy), Kathy Thackaberry (Eadie Trophy), Steve Gruver (Harry Heydt Trophy), and Ann Breschard (Governor's Junior Cup).

Annual Meeting: New Governors, Dues Increase, Governor Reports 
The Annual Meeting of members was held Sunday, Nov. 13. Governors presented their reports on activities in their areas of responsibility during the 2016. In addition, members elected new Governors, and approved a 5% dues increase, and raising the minimum age for a Senior member from 55 to 62.
