Finally, Commodore Brian Joyce reported on the plans to replace the bridge to the island. The town of Westport, FEMA and the Saugatuck Island Special Taxing District's will share the cost of the bridge replacement, which will happen in late Spring/early Summer of 2017. The club's share of the cost of the bridge will be shared by all of the property owners on the island based on a special tax assessment that the District has yet to determine. We will keep you all updated.
