Good Turnout for Season's Last Cruising Class Race
Ten boats - five in each of two divisions - hit the starting line Oct. 2 for the Navigator's Race that closed out the series. Ten boats - five in each of two divisions - hit the starting line Oct. 2 for the Navigator's Race that closed out the series and the season.

With two circles of racing - the Thistle Fontelieu Invitation and Lasers - already going in the course, we got 10 Cruising Class boats started on a course from H mark to Bridgeport R-2. The shifty winds dropped out entirely as most of the boats were still heading for Bridgeport, and the race was ultimately shortened to that mark.

Rich Gold in Turning Point took the bullet in Division 1, followed by Halsey Bullen and Steve Longo in Expresso, Cole Palmer in Mischief, James Coffman on Gemini and Andy Hoffman on Gnosis.

Seth Shepherd in Dow Jones II captured first in Division 3, followed by Marcus and Julie Carpenter on Nereid, Larry Romano on Covenant, Chris Lindau on Terrapin and John D'Angelo on Down the Hatch.
