Winter Improvement Series - December 14th & 15th 0900-1500

Atlantic Nationals Wraps Up 
Dave Peck from Niantic Bay YC (also a CPYC member) bested Steve Benjamin for the win. CPYC teams of Rodrigo Meireles were 3rd, Scott Reichhelm 4th, Chris Wittstock 7th, Mark Foster 8th, Jim Doyle 9th, and Ron Marsilio 10th in the 27 boat fleet. Proctor Sweeps Lightning NAs 
Ched Proctor with Samuel Blouin / Chris Morgan & Monica Morgan completes sweep of the Lightning NAs and Lightning NA Masters Champs in Ontario, Canada (8/6 - 16). CPYCers Dominate Newport 
Madhavan Thirumalai was the top Aero, Sam Blouin won the Waszp class, and Ched Proctor helmed a VX One to victory at the 2019 Newport Regatta, 7/6 -7. Click READ MORE for results link.

All Ok After 6/30 Squall 
A squall with wind gusts up to 63 knots hit the area on Sun, 6/30, and sank Atlantic 129. All are safe, including a local Hobie sailor found separated from his boat. A wonderful volunteer effort the following day brought A-129 off the bottom and back to CPYC !!! Click READ MORE.

Spoils of Destination Racing 
Cruising class members capped off some great winds and close racing with a nice dinner at Black Rock YC. Winning the first of the Navigator Series races was RIch Gold and the Turning Point crew. Espresso (Bullen / Longo / Duncan) took line honors, but ended up 2nd after corrected time and COHO (Durkin) finished 3rd. Click READ MORE

Proctor Repeats as Lightning Worlds Master Champ 
Ched Proctor defended his Lightning Worlds Master Champ title with 7 points in 5 races in Finland with crew Bill Faude and Meredith Killion . Josh Goldman also had an excellent showing with a 5th. For the Lightning European Championships, Ched and Josh finished 5th and 16th, respectively.

2019 Season Underway! 
Racing got underway this week with the full slate of Wednesday night Cruising Class, Thursday night Vanguard, and weekend Vice Commodore's Cup racing. We also had lots of hungry members and guests in attendance for the Memorial Day Picnic on 5/27.

Club Commissioning 2019 
CPYC ushered in it's 132nd season on 5/6 with a crowd of 100 - 120 people. Margaret Yingling: 1923 - 2019 
Honorary Life member and member #2, Margaret Yingling. passed away 3/21, at the age of 95. Margaret was club secretary 1980 - 1983, Remlin Award recipient 1987, club centennial committee member, and long time race committee member on Wed nights. Click READ MORE.
