Fall Regatta Wrap
In Thistles, Steve Gruver won Oyster Roast in Annapolis and took 2nd for skipper AND crew for Thistle Fall Series; nobody ever qualified for both before. In Lightnings, Ched Proctor won King’s Day Regatta in Jacksonville and took 4th at Frigid Digit in Annapolis. Click READ MORE for more CPYC member results (PhotoBoat photo above).
Two CPYC'ers ended up in the top 5 at the 24 boat Frigid Digit in Annapolis, MD, 10/13 - 14.  Ched Proctor with Meredith Killion and Mike Constants finished 4th and Eric Heller with Christina and Drew Lambert were 5th.  At the 35 boat Wild Oyster in Charleston, SC, 10/20 - 21, Josh Goldman with Bill Dodge and Joann Fisher finished 8th and Rod Ratcliffe with Christina Lambert and Scott Potter, 33rd.  At the King’s Day Regatta in Jacksonville, FL, 11/17-18, Ched Proctor with Will Jeffers and Monica Morgan (see photo below) were the winners of the light air affair.  Josh Goldman with Brian Hayes, Jr and Lacey Wildes finished 12th.  Ched Proctor is also the reigning North American Champion with his win in San Diego earlier this summer.

Steve Gruver, Sarah Paisley, and Sarah Bonner won both races on day 2 and topped the 28 boat fleet at the 2018 Oyster Roast in Annapolis MD on Columbus Day Weekend.  At the Heather Bowl Regatta at Red Dragon, 10/27-28, CPYC'ers Jess Hammond and Ante Jelcic crewed for the 2nd place boat, while Steve Gruver crewed for the 3rd place boat.  These were just some of the results from the Thistle Fall Series.  Overall, Steve Gruver got 2nd place for skipper and 2nd place for crew (see photo below).  What makes this achievement even more special is the fact that nobody had ever qualified for both skipper and crew in the fall series before!

Flying Scots
Tom Sebok won the 3-day, CPYC Flying Scot fall series with a burst of bullets.

As reported by Jens Miller, "I was the headsail trimmer on Bazinga! (From American Y.C.). We were 1st in the “American Yacht Club Fall Series”, and 3rd at the “J70 Fall Brawl & East Coast Championship” in Annapolis, MD. Marcus Wunderlich’s from CPYC also did both events with his J70 Stratos. Marcus was 4th at AYC and 16th at Fall Brawl."
