Club Cleanup
Club Cleanup is Sat, 4/27 & Sun, 4/28. Cleanup Day is an essential part of Cedar Point Yacht Club's operation and its culture of volunteerism. Click READ MORE for details.

CLEANUP DAY #2 SATURDAY (4/27); RAIN DATE FOR DAY #1 SUNDAY (4/28)!

It rained cats and dogs on our first scheduled clean up day.   We exercised the option to postpone to the rain date and it seems to have been the right decision.  Meanwhile, the spring bulbs at the club have had another week to grow and bloom.

Having missed our opportunity last weekend, this weekend will be the big effort to beautify and prepare the club for Commissioning.

The revised schedule for fleets is as follows:

  • Saturday, April 27:  Atlantics, CC, Flying Scots, & Thistles
  • Sunday, April 28:  Lightnings, Stars, J70s, Lasers, & Vanguards

If you're not able to come with your fleet, please join us the other day.  Mixing it up with different people can be a fun and unexpected benefit.  If you're not formally affiliated with one of the fleets above, please attend the day of your choice.

We start at 9AM with coffee, juice, and donuts.  Lunch will be served for the mid-day break.  After lunch, there will be a presentation of the new ASA GoSailing (Crew Finder) App upstairs and members of the race committee will be available to answer questions on the new Sailing Instructions (SIs).  There will also be on-going interviews by the strategic planning committee both days and if you want to help stuff yearbooks Saturday, please contact Nancy Helmig at nhelmig63@gmail.com.

Tools and equipment needed for the cleanup include:  Rakes (metal & leaf varieties), push brooms, wheel barrows, straight-edge shovels, hoes, trowels, and hand rakes.  Remember to bring a pair of gloves!  When you arrive, please check in at the Governor's Room to learn where your help is most needed.

Cleanup Day is an essential part of Cedar Point Yacht Club's operation and its culture of volunteerism.  With the change in schedule, we appreciate every member's flexibility.
